The inspiration behind LeatherHaut comes from the belief that leather connects with us in ways other materials simply can’t. Our bond with hides dates back thousands of years—when our earliest ancestors needed protection from the elements, leather was often the only solution.
 

My personal journey with leather began at summer camp, crafting simple projects as a fifth grader. While my skills have grown since then, I still try to approach every piece with that same sense of wonder. A wallet is made much the same way today, but I now also appreciate the rich smell of quality leather, the feel of the grain, and the patience it takes to hand-stitch something truly one-of-a-kind.
 

It’s this deep, historic connection to leather that drives me to create objects that are both beautiful and functional.
